Canadians have been tapping whisky casks and maple trunks for well over two centuries, and our mellow whisky and rich maple syrup have become iconic Canadian flavors. Here are both tastes folded into a classic cocktail recipe, lifted by fresh apple juice and spiced up with a measure of bitters.

Pure Canada Cocktail

2 oz Canadian whisky
1/2 oz maple syrup
1/2 oz fresh apple juice
3 dashes aromatic bitters
1/6 of a fresh lemon

In a cocktail shaker full of ice, combine all ingredients. Squeeze the lemon segment overtop and drop in the rind. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
